UCI Earth Day 2008 Center for Service in Action

  • promotes a healthy environment and a peaceful, just sustainable world.
  • aims to increase public awareness of critical environmental issues.
  • will feature over 30 non-profit agencies, and an array of vendors.
  • will occur in conjunction with Celebrat UCI the campus' Annual Open House; the campus is estimated to receive 20,000 visitors.
  • will feature interactive, hands-on, educational booths and displays, eco-friendly vendors, entertainment & much more.
  • will host the Annual Re-Use Art Competition, consisting of recyclables &/or trash art, & the brand new "Pause for a Cause" Video Competition, a 3 minute video demonstrating the impact that tobacco has on the environment.
  • is part of the campus' environmental awareness week, April 14th-19th, which will feature Bill Nye, the Science Guy, as the Keynote Speaker on April 17th.
  • will be a solar powered event.

Are you interested in participating in our fair?
This is open to vendors, non-profit organizations, student organizations & on campus departments. You're organization must be eco-friendly, advocationg for environmental awareness or be doing something to help the enviornment.

Exhibitor Guidelines for Zero-Waste & Recycling

  • In coordination with UCI's Facilities Management, UCI Earth Day requires that all exhibitors must recycle at this event.
  • Recycling bins will be placed throughout the event.
  • Compost bins will also be available for all food waste & soiled napkins
  • Use of polystyrene (styrofoam) containers is prohibitied.
  • If you need alternative food service products please contact BUYGREEN.COM, Simply Biodegradable or Green Earth Office Supplies.
  • Exhibitors not complying with these guidelines will be barred from participation at future UCI Earth Day events.
  • Thank you for helping us make UCI Earth Day a zero-waste event.

Wayzgoose 2008       10th Annual Car Show on the Green

  NOTE  

If you are planning to attend any of the events on campus, you will be able to park anywhere as this will be a large open house for UCI. This is the only day in which parking is free at UCI.
