For the past 7 years, the UCI Center for Service in Action has sent students to places all over California to engage in short term projects for community agencies. Students have an opportunity to learn about issues such as literacy, poverty, racism, hunger, homelessness, and the environment.

You can help this program continue its successful track record by sponsoring a Alternative Break Participant. For as little as $10 you can help send a UCI student on a trip that will make an impact on their lives and a difference in the community!

What will your sponsorship do?
Provide meals, transportation, shelter, and work supplies for students so they can build soup kitchens, renovate communities, and teach kids about the environment while learning about poverty, homelessness, and conservation.

What will you get for being a sponsor?
With your tax-deductible contribution, you will not only be recognized on our website and throughout the program but you will also receive updates with information about this year’s Alternative Break sites as well as an invitation to the Annual Alternative Break Recognition Dinner.

Who runs the Alternative Break Program?
Alternative Break is a student run program at the UCI Center for Service in Action. Each year, more and more students are interested in Alternative Break. The UCI Center for Service in Action and the Alternative Break committee work to create new and exciting trips that are benificial to the students and communities they are serving. We hope that, with your help, we can sustain this program and support the increasing number of students who are interested in community service.
