Alternative Spring Break 2009. San Francisco National Park.

The Center for Service in Action’s Alternative Break Program presents

  Alternative Break Revisited
Collaborating with the community to create long lasting relationships for a sustainable future

What: Alternative Break Revisited is an extension of the Alternative Break program sponsored by the Center for Service in Action.  This program will focus on transferring the lessons learned during past Alternative Breaks into monthly service projects and an Alternative Spring Break trip.

Who: This program focuses on past Alternative Break participants who are currently enrolled at UC Irvine.

Mission: The mission of Alternative Break Revisited is to continue the purpose and goals of the Alternative Break program by promoting civic engagement.   Alternative Break Revisited encourages past Alternative Break participants to continue giving back to the community, to form relationships with community organizations, and to network with other students on campus.

This program, along with Alternative Break, aims to help all members of the community especially those who face social issues such hunger, homelessness, healthcare, and literacy.  Alternative Break Revisited also engages in environmental issues such as water conservation, pollution, trail maintenance, and the importance of native habitats.
